Reporting to Authorized Representative in Austria
Are you selling batteries as well as electrical and electronic equipment in Austria, and do you have an authorized representative appointed? Then you need to know that a special report to your authorized representative is required by the end of each year.
To meet the reporting obligation, the total quantities of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries placed on the market are reported to the National Compliance Schemes in accordance with the specified categories. In addition, the authorized representative must be informed in detail about the quantities reported and the corresponding sales channels.
In case you are selling your products via B2B channels, and for your authorized representative to be able to fulfill his obligation to provide information to every importer, retailer, or distributor concerned, the reported quantities must be precisely assigned to the respective importer, retailer, or distributor.
This means that the authorized representative must be provided with a detailed statement of the so-called B2B sales, which contains the following information about the relevant importer, retailer, or distributor:
- VAT number
- Company name
- Full address
- Quantities of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries shipped and classified into the reporting categories specified by the National Compliance Scheme
If, in addition to selling via B2B channels, you also sell to private end customers (B2C channel), these quantities must also be provided to the authorized representative. In this case, however, you do not have to list each private customer. You can only submit the total quantities of these B2C sales in the reporting categories specified by the National Compliance Scheme.
